Wilson Scores 24 for Chargers in Region IV Tourney Defeat

The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team hung tough with nationally ranked South Suburban for a half but saw its season end with an 87-66 loss to the Bulldogs on Wednesday in the semifinals of the Region IV Division II tournament.
The Chargers shot 61 percent from the floor in the first half to trail top-seeded and fifth-ranked South Suburban just 44-42 at halftime, but the Bulldogs held Sandburg to just 27 percent shooting after the break.
Chargers sophomore Jean Luc Wilson (East Moline, Ill./United Township) led all players with 24 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Gabe Mason (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) added 14 points for Sandburg.
Tyronn Mosely and Chance Love each scored 19 to lead five South Suburban players in double figures.
